Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:
Confident, team player, fun, hard working, motivated.
Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
I’ve made many special memories, but one of my favourites is when I won gold in the 50 back and bronze in the 100 back at the 2022 British Summer Nationals. I also loved competing with my relay team at the British Summer Nationals, Inter Counties, Arena League, Regionals and Counties. I love the camaraderie, team spirit and enthusiasm. I really feed off that energy and love to give that positive energy back to my team mates. Competing with my team in such a fun and positive environment is always one of my favourite memories at any meet.
Goals:
My goals for the upcoming seasons are to keep pushing myself to become the best version of myself athletically and academically. This season I want to try and improve my endurance as I think this will help with maintaining my stroke rate into the second half of my races.
Long term, I would love the chance to compete at an international event.
Anything else we should know?
Training and racing at an American University is something my coach and I have talked about a lot over the last few years and I’m excited that I now have the opportunity to try and make that happen. My coach and I believe that training and racing in the US will really suit how I race, as my fast underwater and high stroke rate will be well suited to swimming in a yard pool.
I am very keen to experience the American College ethos. As it revolves around being a part of a team, I wouldn’t be the athlete I am today without my teammates. I love being a part of a team as we celebrate the highs together, pick each other up in the lows, encourage each other and push each other to be the best we can be.
