Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:
Passionate, determined, hard working, leader, fun.
Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
My swim club Basildon Phoenix held its first ever swim camp and we travelled to Paphos, Cyprus for a weeks Long Course training where I was selected as the Captain for the week. This role became particularly harder as 75% of the 40 swimmers & 9 Coaches / TM’s got hit with a bout of Norovirus!
Together we managed to keep spirits high, motivated in the pool and all kept enjoying ourselves despite the sickness bug. My coach said at the end of the trip what a fantastic effort I had put into my Captancy and the Team Managers said they wouldn’t have survived without me. This brought me great pride as we all had to adapt to what we were expecting. I enjoy being a leader and role model!
Goals:
To keep participating in swimming at a competitive level, but keeping the fun and enjoyable elements in, out and around the pool.
I have made some great friends through swimming, I would like to continue meeting new people and enjoying the journey and fun atmosphere together.
Anything else we should know?
For the last 3 competitions listed above I was selected as Team Captain for East Region, Essex & BPSC. Roles that I took great pride and enjoyment in holding!
