Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:
Determined, coachable, self-motivated, level-headed, team player.
Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
Throughout my career I have experienced many good memories, however there are a few that stand out to me. A highlight is when I won my silver medal at British summer Championships in July 2022 in the 100m freestyle and then subsequently winning a silver in the 100m back and a gold in the 50m freestyle at English summer Nationals. In 2023, I reached the final in all 5 events at British summer Champs and won a bronze medal at the English Nationals in the 200m freestyle. This year I also qualified for the British Olympic qualifiers in 3 events.
As well as individual events, I also have several highlights from a team perspective. I have formed and developed lifelong friendships in swimming and being part of the last 3 national arena league finals with my club in Cardiff and competing as part of the Norfolk team at the National inter counties gala will always be some of the best memories of my swimming career.
I really enjoy competing and particularly away meets. One of my best experiences was when I took part in the Flanders meet in Antwerp and had the opportunity to race against some Olympic athletes whilst also traveling with my team.
Goals:
My goals consist of continuing to develop all my strokes to further develop my IM and to keep my options open as I know that strengths in strokes develop as the journey continues. A long-term goal is to reach my full potential and have an opportunity to compete at an international event.
Anything else we should know?
I am a level 1 swimming teacher and teach younger swimmers within my club and I am looking to progress this. I am completing the DISE program with Swim England which is giving me a further insight on how to develop my swimming career further. I enjoy gym work alongside my swimming, and this is something I would like to gain more experience in.
