Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:
dedicated, passionate, focused, committed, adaptable
Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
My best memory was probably from this year. After having Covid in January and losing a whole month of training, I had a 5k race in March where I was not expecting to go anywhere near my PB, which I got just before I had Covid in December. However, I managed to knock off another whole minute in less than three months with a whole month out. It really showed that all my hard work paid off and I could not believe it. This achievement really showed me that if I put my mind to something I can achieve almost anything. I had never trained so hard since I had Covid and wanted to prove to myself and others that I can get back up and I can do it.
Goals:
I would love to compete at European and World Championships for triathlon. A good stepping stone would be the Junior European Championships to then progress to the U23s and then hopefully elite racing. My ultimate goal would be the Olympics, possibly in 2028. As a side goal I am still trying to achieve a place at British Swimming Nationals.
Anything else we should know?
I am looking for a university where I can strive in high academic achievements as well as sport. I have been a hard worker and dedicated athlete my whole life, setting myself up well for universities and future jobs. I have been passionate about sport since such a young age, starting with swimming and progressing into running and triathlons. I love to push myself to the limits in my school work and sport which is why I have such high expectations for myself. My preference of university would be one where I can train with athletes of a similar ability so we can work together, motivate each other and push each other to our limits, and be coached by someone who is willing to help my individual needs. I am a quick learner, I listen and I take on board criticism to help myself improve. I love to have fun at training when the time is right, but I am always there firstly for the training and do not just go through the motions but focus on what needs to be done well. In school, I always meet deadlines due to having such good time management and work ethic and I focus and work hard in class. As I have such a busy training schedule, I plan my time well to fit in the school work I need to do as well as any extra work when I have time. I love learning new topics, especially those I can relate to my sport and real life. I get the work done to a high quality and have done so my whole life, which is preparing me for possible future careers.
