Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:
Curious, hardworking, eager, dedicated, disciplined.
Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
I would say that my best memory would simply be competing at British Championships in the summer of 2023 and being a possible contender for a medal in all the events I did. It was my first national meet as I have only been racing in England for just over a year and a half now. So, to be able to race in front of a crowd in a competitive setting was a really great memory for me. Even though I missed out on a podium 3 times (coming fourth) I learnt a lot from it, and it was a really enjoyable experience to be part of a high performing team (Plymouth Leander). Getting to watch all my teammates swim well and cheer them on was a massive part of the experience as well.
Goals:
I would like to make the GB team for European Juniors next season, and then from there just keep improving to get into a competitive American university. The end goal is either Olympic or World Champion in either the 100 or 200 backstrokes.
Anything else we should know?
I have been in a competitive programme with PL for about a year and a half. I consider myself to still be inexperienced when it comes to racing and competing, I think I have a lot to learn and things that I can improve on.
As both my parents are teachers and have worked internationally, I have lived abroad for the first 14 years of my life. I have lived in Saudi Arabia, China, India and Qatar before moving to the UK to attend Plymouth College as a boarder. These experiences have given me an understanding and exposure to different cultures and environments. I am very well rounded academically, enjoying a lot of subjects like the humanities, math, and science. I love learning and am very curious about a lot of different things. As a younger student, I played a lot of different sports including rugby, cricket, volleyball.
