Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:
ambitious, adaptable, conscientious, energetic, organized
Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
The best memory of my athletic career was on the 14th of September 2019 at the Belgian Youth Nationals! It was by far the most challenging race of my life, racing against the best girls in the country. During this race I came out second in the swim and was in a group of five girls on the bike, bit it was my running that set me apart and helped me reach the finish line first! The moment I crossed the line was one of the first times I saw how all of my hard work had paid off. All of the early morning and 20+ hours of training per week had definitely helped me get to this moment. This title proved not only to my coaches and everyone that had been supporting me but more importantly to myself that I am able to achieve everything I set my mind to!
Goals:
Similar to most athletes, my goal is to qualify for the Olympics! I have been working on this dream since I can remember and I wake up every single day ready to work my hardest with that aspiration in mind. And although my life goal is not as specific as my athletic goal, I want to not only be part of a great university, but one where I can learn as much as possible and where I can surpass my academic limits each day. And even though I am still fairly unsure what field I would like to go into, I want to have a job where I am excited to go to work every day!
Anything else we should know?
I have been in the honor roll every year since I started secondary school, and got a merit with distinction award at the end of MYP. I also want to help in the community as much as possible and am therefore part of the South West Volunteering Program! In terms of work experience, I will have done some medical work at Operation Wallacea and a financial internship at JP Morgan before I start college in 2022!
