Give us 5 words that best describe you as an athlete:
Well-rounded, dedicated, committed, disciplined, determined.
Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
My recent best memory in golf was making cut at the Bushveld competition in August 2022. It was an incredible feeling for me to be acknowledged and recognized for all the work I had put in for this competition.
Goals:
My more immediate short-term goals that I have set is to continue to master my game with the same dedication and commitment that I have already proven to myself. Added to this, I have set a 2023 goal to obtain my Open Am national ranking here in South Africa. I will also be focusing on making continued cuts at all the Bushveld tournaments as well as the amateur events.
I also recognize that I need to continue to improve both technically and mentally in the short to medium term and winning a CGGU or Golf RSA competition is my ultimate medium-term goal. Along with developing my game and winning these competitions, I have also committed to doing whatever it takes to get accepted into a US College by Sept 2023,
I have literally dreamt about playing professional golf and this remains my ultimate and most important long-term goal.
I have an understanding of the US college Golf environment and the commitment and dedication that is necessary to succeed, and I am now aggressively pursuing every opportunity that will assist me in achieving this goal.
Anything else we should know?
Since I moved back to South Africa from Abu Dhabi, I have been playing golf and competing regularly. The 2023 season will be the start of my 3rd year of competitive golf. And I have truly noticed a trend of improvement with my scores as well as my results. With the consistent work I’m doing with my swing coach and my mental coach, I am extremely excited to start the 2023 season and see what it may have in store for myself.
I feel like I am quite hard on myself to perform and I definitely see that as a positive. I am always hungry for a win and I’ve been so close so many times. For now it’s a matter of patience because I know it’s coming.
