Why do you want to compete in college?
I would love to compete in college gymnastics as I dream of being part of such an incredible team, continuing to perform the sport that I love. This incredible opportunity would allow me to express my love for gymnastics and focus purely on the sense of enjoyment, whilst maintaining a high level of performance. I have followed past successes of many college teams and students, feeling immensely inspired by the uplifting team spirit they radiate at each college competition.
What is your favorite event and why?
My favourite event is bars as I feel this event has always come more naturally to me and there is always something new to try. There is such a huge array of unique skills, allowing every gymnast to create a specific and individualized routine. Although many gymnasts may argue that this event is one of the most physically and mentally challenging within gymnastics, I thrive off the adrenaline rush when learning and executing a technically difficult skill. As bars is so technically challenging, the perfectionist attributes within me strive to correct any small errors, driving me to excel on this piece of apparatus.
What are your gymnastics and life goals?
A long-term life goal of mine is to fulfill a job in sports psychology. In order to acquire this high-level occupation, I hope to achieve a degree in sports psychology within my time at university whilst developing transferrable skills. Within everyday life I aspire to be a positive, contributing member of society, and a supporting team member in anything I participate in. In terms of gymnastics, once my elite career comes to an end, I feel that college gymnastics would allow me to continue to work hard and perform to the best of my ability, whilst inspiring young girls to participate in the incredible sport that I am so grateful I began.
What makes you different?
I always go the extra mile to ensure that I have given myself the best possible chance to excel in everything that I do. With an excellent work ethic and drive to succeed, my perfectionist qualities allow me to push myself to achieve. My teammates feel that they can always rely on me for advice and support in all aspects of life.
