Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
One of my best memories as an athlete comes from a swim meet in 2019. I was in the 50m backstroke final, which was an elimination final meaning that the slowest swimmer would be eliminated each round. We were 8 boys and 8 girls in the final. The only break was while the boys were swimming. I was in the final as the second slowest swimmer with almost two seconds to the fastest swimmer. In the first round, I made it as the 4th fastest swimmer. Then the second and third round came, and I made it as the fastest swimmer. I remember thinking that it was probably my last round and that I was going to run out of energy. Then I made the fourth round and in the fifth round I made it as the fastest swimmer and 3/100 faster than my new PB from prelims. I was so surprised that I made it so far and I just kept going. I ended up with a silver medal after only losing the last round. It is such a special memory to me, because it reminds me that I am capable of way more than I sometimes think I am.
Goals:
My goal is to achieve the impossible. I have proven to myself several times that I am capable of far more than I think I am. Therefore, my goal is to exploit my potential to the fullest, and then even go a little further!
Anything else we should know?
I enjoy competing in big events and when the pressure is on. Those are the moments I practice for and I just love competing!
