Tell us about your best memory of your athletic career:
I qualified and competed in the 200Fly and the 400 Individual Medley at the Swim England Summer Nationals 2023, I qualified for the finals in both events. In the 200fly final, I was seeded 4th, I remember feeling incredibly nervous before the race. During the race as I made the turn at the 100m mark, I knew I had lots of energy left, so I pushed on. Throughout the race, I stayed focused on my race plan and had no idea what the outcome was in the field. Despite not knowing that I secured 2nd place it was a tight finish by just a fraction of a second. This was such a huge accomplishment as it was unexpected after a difficult year chasing qualifying times and trying to get back to full fitness, this helped me re-gain my confidence after a season of adversity.
.
Goals:
My goals this year are qualify for the British Championships in my 200fly and to final at British Summer Championships. My long-term goals are to reach my full potential and make it to an international level while competing in the sport.
Anything else we should know?
In 2023 I struggled with a shoulder injury (impingement) I had to take 3 months off (I kicked during that time). I had lots of physical therapy and started going to the chiropractor, which helped massively and is now pain free.
