It is that time of the year again! March Madness! Arguably the best month for college sports fans and an absolute must of all college basketball fanatics. This is the time of the year, when every game is a “must-win”, a “do or die” game. One bad game, and your team’s entire season might be over. The pressure, the intensity, and the emotions run at an absolute maximum. Those are the playoffs in NCAA Division 1 Basketball. What starts with the selection show on March 12, where the championship bracket with all 68 teams is revealed, will go throughout the entire month of March and until April 3, when the championship game will take place at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The so-called “Final Four” is where the last four remaining teams will battle out the National Championship in a 3-day event that is not only watched in the US, but around the world. Going into the home stretch of the season, there does not seem to be a clear favorite for the title. Currently the Kansas Jayhawks stand on top of the rankings with their 26-3 record, followed by the defending champions Villanova, the UCLA Bruins, the Gonzaga Bulldogs with their 29-1 record and the ACC leaders North Carolina Tar Heels, who just beat the Duke Blue Devils this past weekend in arguably the best rivalry game in all of college sports. So it is looking like another exciting March Madness with a lot of close games, upsets, and the usual “Cinderella Story” of some underdog team advancing far into the tournament.
