
The spring golf season is well and truly underway. Last week Eastern Florida State College took the Titan Winter Invitational in Melbourne Florida, with scores of 299, 294, 289, for a total of 882, beating second place Keiser University by seven shots. Mathieu Echlard of Eastern Florida State also took the individual title with scores of 71, 69, 72, for a total of 212 (-4), winning by six shots.
On the women’s side, eighth ranked Barry University won their first tournament of the spring, capturing the World Golf Invitational at Slammer & Squire Golf Course at the World Golf Village. The Buccaneers shot 293 in the final round to win by seven strokes over Florida Tech with a total of 582 for the two rounds.
Saint Leo was third with a 596. Nova Southeastern and Lynn tied for fourth at 599 on the 6,049-yard, par-72 course.
Tilda Larsson from Barry University took the individual title with scores of 68,73, for a total of 3-under 141.
